Ingredients
For exactly 5 x 200ml jam jar with lids or 2 x 500ml canning jars
- 4 Cups granulated sugar
- 4 cups raspberries
Preparation
Step 1
Sterilize your glass jars, lids or seals by cleaning them in boiling water to eliminate all forms of bacteria and germs.
Step 2
Thoroughly wash your berries under a running tap. Then go ahead to place them in a large saucepan. Boil for at least 2.5 mins, while mashing with a potato masher. Boil again for 1 minute, while stirring the mixture.
Step 3
Warm up sugar for a bit, and add to the mixture before bringing it to a boil. Then boil for 5 minutes until you see a gel.
Carry out a gelling test by placing 2 teaspoons of the raspberry mixture on a small plate. The jam is ready when you notice thick drops.
Step 4
Pour out the hot raspberry jam mixture into the earlier cleaned jars and ensure to tightly close the lids.
Make sure the jars are airtight by checking to see that the screw lids are properly sealed and tight enough for you to turn it upside down. After the raspberry jam has cooled off, turn the jam jar upside down and keep away. Then you can enjoy this deliciousness for your breakfast.
