Nothing beats a refreshing and relaxing atmosphere when working or after a long day. Peppermint candles are one of the many candles that add this bright and relaxing atmosphere to your space. The interesting fact is that it does not take an hour to make it in glass candle containers.

This guide will help you make this special candle at home, even if you have never made one before. You will find the materials you will need and instructions for making this candle in any size jar, including smaller containers like 2 oz glass jars with metal lids or bigger options like 300ml or 500ml glass jars.

Supplies You Will Need to Make Peppermint Candle

● 6 cups of Soy Candle Wax

● 2 tsp of Peppermint Essential Oil

● Candle Wick

● Glass Candle Containers e.g. 2 Oz Glass jars with metal lids, 300ml or 500ml glass jars

● Wooden Spatula or Spoon

● Candle Dye (optional)

● Heat Source

● Saucepan

● Hot Glue or Wick Stickers (to hold the wick to the bottom of the glass jars)

How to Make Peppermint Candles in Glass Candle Containers

1. Prep the Glass Candle Containers

The first step is to clean the glass jars thoroughly with soap and warm water to remove any dirt or dust particles. If you are using glass jars as small as 2 oz glass jars with metal lids or bigger glass jars, ensure the jars and their lids are thoroughly dried before you start using them.

2. Secure the Wick

You can either use hot glue by dabbing it at the base of the wick before attaching it to the centre of the bottom of the glass candle containers. You also use wick stickers to attach the wick to the base of the jars. But make sure you hold it in place for a few seconds to ensure it sticks properly. Use a wick holder to secure the wick above, before filling the jars with the wax

3. Melt the Wax

Place the saucepan on medium-low heat, pour in the soy candle wax and gradually melt it on medium-low heat while stirring it occasionally until everything melts.

4. Add the Peppermint Fragrance

Once the wax is completely melted, add the measured quantity of peppermint essential oils, mix properly by stirring, and remove it from the heat source.

Prepare the Wicks: If using wick stickers, adhere them to the bottom of the glass jars. If not, you can use a small dab of hot glue to secure the wicks to the centre of the jar bottoms.

5. Fill the Glass Jars with the Candle Wax

Arrange the candle jars more preferably, the smaller sizes like the 2 oz glass jars with metal lids together, and the bigger sizes like 300ml or 500ml glass jars separately. Carefully fill the glass jars for candle making with the melted wax. Ensure you leave a bit of headspace in the jars.

Allow it to solidify until it hardens properly. Avoid moving the jars to prevent spillage or uneven settling. Once it solidifies, trim the excess wick but leave up to ¼ of the wick above the candle.
